Ok... wanted to blog about this quite some time ago, but dun have the time.

Ran 10km marathon last last sunday (24th Jul 10). Was so accomplished when i finally finished that i LOL to myself... HOHO!

Sometimes, ppl use the metaphor, life is like a marathon. Only until i have done one(ok, well, 10km is not exactly amarathon but it is alr a marathon to me) ,then i realised what it really meant...

In the marathon, u feel inspired to run, esp during the first 2km, i dun feel tired at all although i am running all the while. Usu if i were to just go for a jog, i will feel tired when i have only ran like 200m... I suppose it is because of all the people that are running in pace with you, that you dun feel tired at all, as thou the run is some leisurely walk...

during the marathon, there is always a need to rmb that you are there to beat yourself, not to compete (well, unless u are those pro runner, but i am just a leisure 10km fun runner). So although some runners may surpass me, there is no need to pressurise myself to keep in pace with them. Also, there may be some runners who started walking, but dun give in to the temptation. rmb that you are there to beat yourself, and if you know you can continue to run, dun walk.

Marathon is like life, in the big picture, you will just go with the flow, like how everyone run tgt in the same race. You may meet different ppl in life, some are highly competitive, some are laid back. Although generally, you go with the flow, but still, stay true to yourself. dun be pressurised such that you strained yourself, yet, dun be tempted to perform lesser than what you are capable of. Turn pressure to motivation, turn temptation to consolation.

i love to run. And 10km run is definitely fun... gg for great eastern run (haven't sign up yet cos no time, early bird registration ends 9 Aug)... Shall tone myself up for longer run! but now, 10km is just right for me, someone who dun train for her run... opps!

okok... I shall give a reason to why i don't blog as often now... it is because i lead a healthy lifestyle now!!! lol... i slept at 11pm everyday faithfully!! so most of the time i don't really touch the computer... and i ate breakfast everyday!!! heh, i rarely eat breakfast and breakfast usu will give me stomach ache... lol... but then meaning fatter since i eat 1 more meal a day... my lunch and dinner portion nv change lor... opps...

ok, continuing from my previous entry, (initially i wanted to continue in the near future back then, but u know....), i think most ppl will not give all their best because one will tend to leave some room for oneself to fall back upon if one were to fail... although it does seem wise for one to always leave an alternate route for oneself, but perhaps like the chinese saying, 破釜沉舟, if one were to destroy all the alternatives, one will be more determined toward achieving one's goal, hence, having a higher chance of success...

how many of us had a dream/goal since young and had faithfully followed it throughout? or is our current dream/goal determined by what we current think we are capable of? In other words, are we just working within our comfort zone? When will we be willing to step out of it? Or will we ever step out of it?

ok, here i am... basically nth much to talk abt... i am still at my temp job...

anw i currently have 3 goals:

1. volunteer
2. exercise
3. learn jap

the first goal i am gg to do it with shuk next sun and next next sun... and i am still looking for a permanent placement somewhere...

the seond goal is like on the hold lor... my mom dun wanna go yoga with me alr!!! then i lost all motivation to continue... now looking for some kind soul(s) to go kickboxing lessons or aerobics with me... haha

the third goal, i tried to start but i nv get past the first stage, which is to rmb the hiragana and katakana... i dun even rmb one la!!

well, but i am working at it, trying to enrich my life to the most...

recently there is some saga that makes me realise i shld not always be so keen to offer help to people cos some people are evil and they will take advantage of ur kind nature... there are ppl of all sort and not all of them are as kind as u expect them to be... nv only think the best of everyone, must always keep the cynical view to protect yourself...

read this old newspaper article today on the newspaper several days ago... still within this month thou...

it's abt this 2 girls who are gg for girl guides camp... since they have sth on in the day, so they have to go to the campsite themselves in the evening... their campsite is @ yck, so they took a cab from yck station...

the comfort delgro cabbie driver, is plain evil... he lost his way and dun admit it... and he dump them @ some unknown place, no where near the campsite, where they are surrounded by bushes and total darkness... he lied to them initially that he will drive and light the way for them to find their way, but shortly after they alight, he drove off within a second!!!

then these 2 poor girls have to wander in pitch dark, with only handphone lights... lucky thing is that they've gottheir handphone with them and they contacted their teacher in charge for help... but it is still v dangerous!!! what if there are drug addicts/ illegal immigrants/ escaped convict hidding there!!! they are found after i think, after more than 1 hour... and now, they are both traumatised and afraid of the dark... oh ya, along they way they claimed to have encountered some supernatural sightings, white figures/ sense tt sth is following them... of course it could be their imagination running wild, but u can see how scared they are!! one of the girls can only sleep with the lights on(the reporter only know the story of one girl cos her mother called the newspaper)...

the cabbie driver is so bad la!! he could have droven them back to the mrt and ask their teacher to fetch them!!! yet he chose to abandon them in some ulu place, and still, have the cheek to claim the cab fee from them which is like $22 plus but as the girls only have $20, he took all that they have, leaving them penniless... he lost his way and abandon them and still asked for cab fee!!! he is just taking advantage of the innocent girls la!!! how irresponsible can he be!! i totally think he should be jailed, for causing mental stress to the girls... either he compensate them a huge sum of money, if he cannot pay up, off to jail he goes...

oh ya, did i mention that the cab driver's excuse is tt he is afraid of the dark?!! what the...

heh... i found a job now, so hafta sleep regularly... hope my dark circles will be cured...

living a very meaningless life now... lol... too lazy to exercise after work, so there goes my exercise plan... then run out of shows to watch and time to watch the shows... so there goes my entertainment plan... no guitar, there goes my plan to learn an instrument... run out of ideas, there goes my script writing... haiyo... i need to restore my brain and enthusiasm... i think i left them in korea...now i am just getting by day by day... dun think i am living...

My days in Busan!!!

Day 4 learning points:

1. My jeju guesthouse's surroundings are pretty!!!

Reached Busan in the afternoon...

2. Besides walking, koreans are also accustomed to climbing stairs... climbed up/down the stairs with our luggages... was figuring out how to go to our hotel when someone who lives at our hotel just nice passed by and led us there :D

3. Drivers are super unfriendly... always honk at u or trying to knock u down... cars don't slow down at zebra crossings when they see ppl wanting to cross...

4. yongdusan park. a tourist spot, is also a hang out place for senior citizens... but it is pretty...

5. Many alleys to shop, clothes are cheap!!! selling @5000won only... around $5++...

6. Cure for balding/ thinning hair!!!!!!!! WIG!!! see the before and after pic below!!!

7. Air is super dry in Busan, my clothes dries very quickly after i wash them... and my lips keep threatening to crack... alr used half my lip balm!!!

Day 5 learning points:

1. Don't worry if it rains in Busan, there are plenty of underground market... and the underground market is super pretty!!!

2. Food at Busan is much cheaper than jeju too... ~40% cheaper...

3. Don't climb taejongdae in the rain.... it is super cold and misty... can see hot air coming out from ur mouth when u talk... actually the park person asked the korean aunties and uncles in front of us to turn back cos rain was big and it was super misty... but they didn't, so we follow them too... later then regret...

4. korean aunties and uncles are strong lor... not like us, so nua... they climb super fast!!!

5. Singlish is distinctive!!! met 2 groups of sgreans there!!! this pic meant to show the bus' feature to safeguard the last row middle passenger...

6. explore the places near our hotel... came across a place where they always drink soju and eat seafood...

Day 6 learning points:

1. their ppl sleep early and wake early... the sun rises @ 5am... which is 4am sg time!!! we woke @ arnd tt time and went jalgalchi fish market... reach there arnd 6am+...

2. Breakfast at 7am korean time is the first time for all of us... we usu wake @ noon... 4 person share this big pot for breakfast~!!

3. their university is so nice, equipped with escalator... and alot to shop!!! and alot outside the uni to shop!!

4. clear skies = sunny weather??? NONONONO!!! Beach is damn cold and windy!!!!!!

5. Beaches at night are frezzingly cold!!!! went to gwangalli beach for night view... went to eat at the store where they shoot "Heroes" movie... the jap movie, not the american series...

gg to seoul later... days passes so quickly!!! hope there is com there too!!!

P.S. anw for those who dunno, my busan hotel no aircon, is ownself open window cos it's so cold here, feels like aircon at night...

P.S. again Hair dryer is powerful!!! i just dried my jeans with it... cos i went to wash my jeans with the washing machine there...

hehe... blogging from my guesthouse in jeju!!! well, basically i will be blogging on the days there la.. so warning!!! it will be lengthy and maybe boring... haha!! but i will try to inject some sense of humar into it....

Day 1
Basically, take SIA flight 1150pm... 10min later, the day is gone, so next day:D

Day 2 learning points
1. taxi driver will try to proach u to take cab, although there is like direct transfer... diao...

2. food in all airports are the same-----> BLUFF MONEY!!!
- end up eating kfc... lol... but we tried to eat some other flavours la... like barbeque chicken and shrimp burger...
- they call their restaurants food court ---> bluff our feelings

3. Bus drivers are super nice...
- just tell them where u wanna go, they will remind u to get down when they reach the stops

4. teddy bear museum is full of teddy bear in different costumes

5. taxi drivers are damn scary... they keep pester u!!!

6. the korea zha jiang mian (cup noodles) is super nice!!!

7. Free international calls at our guesthouse, i think they will blacklist us...

8. there are many pretty flowers along the road!!!

Day 2 learning points
1. lava cave is damn cold...
2. Seaview restaurants arhas breathtaking view... this is from where we had our lunch... 2. it is super difficult and scary to climb the rocks!!! (yeah!! we climbed past all these rocks to enter the cave!!) oh, that guy is our guide...lol

3. the weather is deceiving!!! it is windy but the sun is so strong that we all ganna sunburnt... but the view is nice... below are the pic in udo... the sea is 2 colours one lor... the other pic we climb a long way to the top to see the view...

4. when you tour guide volunteer to bring u to eat sth unique, ask clearly before u ever accept his kindness!!!
- we went to eat HORSE SASHIMI!!! OMG!!!!! now i feel so guilty when i see horses...

5. faceshops/skinfood/missha are super cheap here lor... and the ppl selling them speaks chinese... lol!!! they see us buy alot, they ask, are u from sg? cos sg ppl always buy alot... lol!!! sg cheat $$$ lor...

6. gps is not a good guide... we sit taxi and got lost and he keep turning around all the possible alleys lor... heading spinning...

Day 3 learning points
1. taxi drivers are damn scary... they keep pester u!!!
- there is this taxi driver, he asked us to wanna take his car anot before we enter minimini land, then asked us again when we exit mini mini land like 2h later!!! then he keep pester us lor... we alr say dun wan he just stalk us... and tell us no bus tt goes arnd there... and guess wad, we took a bus there lor...

2. Bus drivers are super nice...
- this driver he let us down in front of th place we want to go lor... thou the bus stop is like 300-400m away...
-bus driver will bow to everyone and say sth like thank you for taking the bus before the start for the journey... so sweet!

3. u need to walk alot in korea...

4. they say there are many strong and exotic palnts at the crater, well, we only see green everywhere... cannot differentiate... lol.... but the view is nice la...

5. there are nice ppl arnd
- most of the ppl are willing to help u
- we got down at the wrong bus stop then asked fro direction from this uncle... he very patiently and kindly explain to us how to go, thou we are like one chicken one duck... then he even help us to flag a taxi to drive us there(and tell the driver go where)... cos the place is far on foot but not v far on wheels, so taking taxi is most hua suan...

6. I love shopping!! haha!

7. there are nice taxi drivers arnd... heh... there is this pro uncle who go thru many alleys and get us to our destination so quickly that we were all stunned... haha...

went out with yihui and bek gwan today... had so much fun!!! totally nv expect yihui to sing hokkien songs with me, lol!!!

I really love my rvco days, where we always wait for each other to keep our instruments and go hang out at jec mac, sharing multiple big fries and kfc refillable drinks, and rot there for several hours... love the syf times too where we go out to compete tgt as a team... i think that's when i appreciate teamwork the best... also love the times where we perform for concerts(i still kept my esplanade pass!)... love the times where we stay over in sch tgt... rvco left me great memories and great friends :D

my 3 years of uni is coming to an end... so sad last thu i never take picture of my last lecture!! damn sad lor... gg to bring my camera on tue and force my 311(last tutorial) and 248(last seminar) group members + tutors to take pictures with me... wahahaha!

quite sad as i know i will lose many friends i had made in uni, those friends that i will talk to in class or when i bump into them outside class/ even go home tgt, but not close enough to go out tgt for outing and stuff...

there are many ppl we met in each stage of our life, making our life a bit different than before, however after we part and as time passes, perhaps we could not even rmb their faces anymore, or perhaps when we met again, we will have nth to talk to each other anymore... but i am really thankful for these ppl who appear in my life, making a difference to my life...

sigh... well, life goes on... but i think they will stay in my memories, making me smile/laugh to myself whenever i look back at those funny moments we shared tgt...

seriously, i think this can work!!! after becoming an auditor (which i hope some company will want me), then i will get my access to a huge network of potential customers cos they are overstressed!!! afterwhich i will go to some place to find a formula for hair growth(well, i will try to achieve this part asap), and afterwhich, i will find some venture capitalists to aid me to start a business!!! woohoo!!!

so after my chains become a success, i can go open a cafe(oh ya, sell vietnam coffee!! recently obsessed with it!!!) and spend my time in my cafe to think of ideas for my script writer(obviously i will hire someone to mend my shop la, i will help out if when i feel uninspired)... then i will find my cute director... hohoho!! (actually i am keeping the options open, dun exactly need to be director, just need to be cute and talented and has promising future)

been reading mypaper ever since i started to work as an intern and recently, 2 columnist gave their feedback on what was published on The Sunday Times, which depicted a young prodigy althete being oppressed by parents of other competitors as they feel that this prodigy has an unfair edge over their child and thus, should not be allowed to take part in the same competition as them as it will only serve to demoralise them blaaah blaaah blaaah... and it was said that they will jeer at the poor prodigy whenever he is in competition and this makes the prodigy very sad and wanted to give up on the sports he is gifted in... feeling super pissed with the parents and sorry for the child... those adults are PURE MEAN!!!

I thought prodigies used to be well respected?? like mozart?? oh nonono... nowadays, prodigies are strange creatures that do not belong to the same race as us and ought to be isolated and despised... wth is that!!! VERY disgusted with these parents...

isn't it the time to teach ur child abt hardwork? edison theory of 1% talent and 99% hardwork? or do you just tell your child, "oh he is more talented so it is ok for you to lose to him since the compeition is unfair from the start"... If u are thinking of doing the latter as u do not believe in edison theory, let me give a real life example...

Singapore did not start off as a prodigy... Without nature resources(which is equivalent to talent), we started off as a normal kid competing with prodigies(ctries with a lot of nature resources) around us... there was a time, when people say singapore wouldnt make it, BUT WE DID... yeah, and we not only did survive, but we are doing better than those talented ctries... we did it because of our ancestors' hardwork and thus being their descendants, we should also work hard like our ancestors did and never give up easily!

so dear those parents, let your child face the prodigy kid, let them take on the challenge and encourage them to work hard to bridge the gap... in fact, they are privileged to encounter someone better than them, so that they will be motivated to continue to work hard... stop giving your child the lame "It is ok for u to lose cos he is a prodigy" excuse ... no matter who your competitor is, give all you can and never give up without putting on a tough fight... that's what that matters most...

Last time also got no money to buy ice-cream cone.

We want to build water desalination plant already so not so bad.
But their own economy now all go bust.
Got to sell water otherwise money no enough.
Then another neighbor say Singapore no friend friend,
Got so much money, a bit more also donno how to lend.

They say we all only one small red dot,
like the center of a big dartboard.
Maybe they think we mouse and they cat,
that's why they suka suka anyhow talk like that.
But we all still send them a lot of rice.
Show the world we actually very very nice.
Sometimes we 'cho ho sim' also kena whack.
But we all gentleman wan, don't want to fight back.
I think hor maybe they don't understand us very well.

Some say aiyah our prosperity is all due to luck,

yeah!! confirm gg taiwan at 20sept:D booked the tickets!!! thou i went there before alr but this time i shall explore new places since it is so big... haha... yeah clothes, bags and food, i am coming to devour u!!! i hope xing guang3 will be promoting their new album when i was there... or some other popular singers!!! haha... maybe yang zong wei will release his concert dvd!! haha!! it's still so far but i am so looking forward to it... hope there wont be any sudden quiz or make up lessons popping up to spoil my hols... lol... but since it is recess week, the quizzes shld be after tt ba...

saw 2 pc of clothes that i like in an online spree on fri... then when i decide on what to get, the spree was closed... then just today, i saw another similar spree gg on... but before i can do my money transfer, the spree limit is reached... then just now at like 12am++, i realised it was updated that the spree limit is off and it is gg to close at 9am... then wanted to use my ibanking acct which i nv use before for a fund transfer... and guess what???? my ibanking acct dun allow bank transfer!!! faints... i am so not fated to own those clothes..

went shopping yesterday... think i must have been too deprived... spent alot of money la... but then is for presents... so less guilty... haha... anyway went to this shop at chinatown which sell korean accessories... they are so nice and so ex... but we still bought like 4 items there and the person promised to keep one item for us... lol... also went to this shop that sells authenic korean goods... according to the boss, the label says made in korean, unlike those made in china goods which are fake... well, bought a shirt which can buy me 3 shirts at bugis la!!!

then after that went zara and saw this super nice handbag... was so abt to go pay when we realised it is defected!! and cos it is sales item, it is the last piece la... super sad leh!! dun think i can find one as nice bag around... even dreamt of it yest... haha...

sigh... i am so deprived of shopping but then i am too lazy to go shopping... life is full of cotradiction...
